Tesla acquired an artificial intelligence technology firm to improve its autonomous driving system.
This week, Tesla completed the acquisition of DeepScale, a company that uses sophisticated “deep neural networks” and other aspects of artificial intelligence to help autonomous driving technology more effectively analyze the world around it.
Tesla is still silent about the details of the acquisition, but DeepScale CEO Forrest Iandola updated his LinkedIn account, saying he has joined the Tesla development team to work on deep learning and autonomous driving.
DeepScale startup is known for creating Carver21 computer vision software. The company also specializes in energy-efficient deep learning computing systems.
